There's one part of the rental process that we absolutely love.

You take a perfectly decent white dress.

You look at it.

You look at it again.

And then someone says:

— What if we tear it up a bit, stain it, and add a black veil and spiders?

And just like that, an hour later, you're no longer looking at a holiday dress, but a Ghostly Bride.

October at Sonechko has officially begun. 😄

This year, we've significantly expanded our collection of children's Halloween costumes. Some looks were put together from existing costumes, some were completely revamped, and for others, we sewed or sourced brand-new details.

And the result is, in places, stunningly beautiful.

In other places, wonderfully weird.

And sometimes — beautiful and weird all at once. Exactly how Halloween should be.

👻 Ghostly Brides

A white dress turned out to be a dangerously versatile thing overall.

Add an old veil, dark details, a touch of an "aged" effect, spiders, and a withered rose — and a little princess suddenly transforms into the heroine of an old, spooky estate.

Our new Halloween collection features several versions of ghostly bride costumes for girls — ranging from almost romantic to genuinely eerie.

And yes, they love taking photos way more than regular brides do. 😄

🧸 Creepy Dolls

This is probably one of my favorite themes this year.

Bows, a fluffy dress, neat little shoes…

Everything seems fine.

Until the doll tilts her head to the side and looks at you as if she definitely knows something you don't.

For these looks, we used old holiday dresses, adding scuffs, little tears, dark stains, and matching accessories.

The result is a lineup of creepy Halloween dolls — scary just enough to keep things fun for the child, while grandma still agrees to take them home after the party. 😄

🧛‍♀️ Vampire Girls

Another classic that's here to stay.

Black, burgundy, lace, a cape, a slightly paler makeup look — and an ordinary schoolgirl instantly looks like she's spent the last two centuries attending classes exclusively during the night shift.

What's more, a vampire costume for girls doesn't have to be bloody or terrifying at all.

We lean more toward gothic looks: beautiful, slightly gloomy, and striking enough for a Halloween photoshoot or a school party.🕷 Witches, Ghosts, and Other Honorable Fiends

Halloween just wouldn't count without witches, of course.

Then there are ghosts, skeletons, zombies, bats, black cats, and characters we sometimes spend a good five minutes trying to name.

And that is precisely what makes it wonderful.

Children's Halloween has long stopped being a holiday where everyone has to show up as identical vampires in black capes.

You can be funny.

You can be beautiful.

You can be weird.

You can be scary.

Or you can show up in a look that makes half the class ask:

— Who are yousupposed to be?

And proudly reply:

— It's complicated. 😄
🎃 How to Choose a Kids' Halloween Costume

Here, we'll get serious for just a moment.

The most gorgeous outfit won't save the holiday if the child asks to take it all off ten minutes later.

So when choosing a costume, don't just look at the photos. The child needs to be able to walk, sit, dance, and move their arms comfortably. Masks shouldn't block vision, long skirts shouldn't get tangled underfoot, and accessories shouldn't weigh about as much as the child themselves.

This is especially important for kindergarteners and early elementary school kids.

Looking good is wonderful.

Looking good and feeling comfortable is so much better.
